General characteristics of MAGNESIUM alloys

• 30% to 35% lighter than aluminum,
• It offers an excellent combination of mechanical properties,
• Easily machinable – Fire prevention measures are however recommended when machining this material.
• 3 times more resistant than polymers,
• Thermal conductivity relatively high.
• Alloys and in particular those with zinc, zirconium and thorium keep a relatively high thermal conductivity which favors hot uses.
